As long as Britain is in the EU, we don't really have control of our own farming industry. I am not 100% sure on the current situation, but I think that the CAP determines the subsidies received, not the British government (I could be wrong though).

And if the subsidies were removed, then all dairy farming in this country would pretty much cease because it would become so expensive in comparison to subsidised milk from France and Poland.
