Label My Food Newsletter – October 2007
Thank You First of all, I would like to say thank you to every one who joined the campaign in its first month. We reached 47 members, which isn’t bad, but we will need to do a lot better in the future to make this into a credible consumer campaign. What’s Happening Now? We are about to launch our first campaign, which will be an attempt to persuade Supermarkets to improve the labelling they provide in their in-store bakeries. The lack of information on bakery products is pretty astonishing given the very detailed ingredient information provided on so many of their pre-packaged products. How can you help? If you are interested in helping out there is a whole page devoted to this here: http://www.labelmyfood.org.uk/help.html However, the most important thing at this point is recruitment. Please do tell as many people as you can about the campaign, and get them to sign up. If you are a member of Facebook, please join our ‘cause’ there and use it to invite everyone you think might be interested to join as well: Label My Food on Facebook Write an article You can help out by just writing a few words about your food experiences, a restaurant review, a recipe, or even just what you would like this campaign to achieve for you. These will be used to help promote the campaign, so whatever you write will be most welcome. Please send all entries in by email, or post them directly into the Articles section on the members forum here: http://www.labelmyfood.org.uk/forum/articles/ If you have any ideas or feedback, don’t forget to post them on to the forum: http://www.labelmyfood.org.uk/forum/ Anthony Butcher |
