Consumer Campaign backs the Year of Food and Farming
14th September 2007
The Label My Food campaign today backed the Year of Food
and Farming initiative to educate inner city children about
where their food comes from.
“This is a fantastic idea and I wholeheartedly support
it” stated Anthony Butcher, the founder of Label My
Food. “British children should be taught to take an
interest in what is in their food and where it comes from.”
“Starting early like this underpins the core message
of the Label My Food campaign. We would encourage every school
in Britain to become actively involved in teaching their pupils
about farming, food transportation and animal welfare. These
are major issues of our time, and our children should grow
up being able to make informed choices about what they eat.”
